The road to stardom begins with a single audition... or three

Today is May 1st, spring has sprung, spring auditions have begun (see, I could be a poet too).
I have been working hard for the past year and a half to not only literally get my voice back after injury but to find my voice in the world. It has taken a long time to find the confidence I once had to not only perform... but to sing in front of others. Church had helped. I have found inner peace. Medition has been a factor; practicing vocal exercisies had helped, but most of all, for the first time I have had people cheer me on that where not in there in the past. It was hard to accept that at first, but without those people I would not be where I am. My faith had also been restored. I am not shy about saying that I never thought I would join a church, be involved or have a church family, but I do and it is amazing.
May 10th marks my first audition in over 10 years. I will be auditioning in Southbridge for The Little Mermaid. May 18th I will be auditioning for Evita in Shrewsbury and May 21st I will audition for a second little mermaid. I have been preparing for several months. I suceeded the A5 that I used to have and now hit a Bb5! I cant believe how much my range and technique had improved. I also enrolled in ballet to learn to dance. At this time I have no recollection of dancing in anything other than musicals. It is a clean slate- i am no longer "uncoordinated" or too "fat" to dance (yes seriously they are direct quotes. I now sing "louder to people can hear" me. BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
Now that things are starting to happen this blog will be updated more in hopes to inspire others when they feel down. Sucess is possible. Dont let anyone hold you back. Find supports- they dont have to be family. It will be in the least likely place you look... but they will be there.
Im Outtie!
